You don’t have to lead alone - or carry toxicity forward.
I’m Yulee Lee – an executive leader, author, speaker, coach, and the co-founder of Khora Collective.
My passion for leadership began early, but so did my encounters with its darker side. Like many Asian American Christians, I’ve seen the harm of toxic leadership up close – leaders who confuse charisma with character, or organizations that mistake loyalty for health. Those experiences could have left me disillusioned. Instead, they ignited a lifelong commitment: to help leaders rediscover a way of leading that is rooted in character, courage, and clarity.
As a Korean American Christian female leader, I bring a perspective that has too often been overlooked in leadership conversations. My voice is shaped by both the richness and the challenges of navigating culture, faith, and identity. I know what it’s like to feel the weight of representation in spaces where leaders who look like us are rare. I also know the deep resilience and wisdom our communities carry – strengths the broader church and marketplace desperately need.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of coaching emerging leaders, executives, and pastors across the country. I’ve spoken at conferences, retreats, and churches, offering tools and stories that help leaders heal and reimagine what leadership could be. My upcoming book gathers research, theology, and lived experience to name toxic leadership for what it is – and to chart a path toward wholeness.
At the heart of my work is a simple conviction: leadership is sacred work. When leaders are healthy, whole, and Spirit-led, entire communities can flourish. My calling is to create spacious, healing, and strategic pathways for leaders to thrive.
When I’m not writing or coaching, you’ll likely find me planning quality time with my family, sitting around a table with friends, curating meaningful conversations, watching the latest K-drama, or laughing too loudly at something small and silly. Because joy, too, is part of the work of resisting toxicity and living fully.
“Working with Yulee has not only helped propel me towards practical steps that have led to positive change, but I now have a new lens through which I view my role in the greater story of my organization, and the kind of change agent that I can be. Thank you, Yulee, for bringing me to a greater awareness of the things inside and outside of myself which impact my ability to be an innovative and compassionate leader who champions for positive change!"
“Thank you so much for facilitating our board meeting last month! As usual, you did an amazing job meeting us where we are, intuitively understanding our organization and what matters to us, and pushing us forward with the content you presented and the questions you asked. I still can't believe how lucky we got to have a consultant who is such a good fit for us.
“Thank you, Dr. Lee! I found the course incredibly helpful in my own leadership journey, affirming many things and challenging me in many areas. As glad as I am for having the opportunity to take a course like this completely online, I definitely would have liked to take it in-person with you. Thanks for your extensive knowledge!”
